I just wanted to ask if Oblivion Reloaded changes anything in how Oblivion's shaders handle normal maps. I recently rediscovered Ethatron's optimisation of normal map compression in DDSOpt, as described here on the old OBGE website. It uses partial derivates to enable higher quality normal map compression that works with without any modification of Oblivion's shaders.
I haven't noticed anything amiss with Oblivion Reloaded; I'm just asking for peace of mind, and to see if others think it still makes sense to use this optimisation. It does seem quite nifty.
