I have only had oblivion reloaded for a couple days. However, the game continues to crash with this mod active every 20 minutes or so. I haven't done much to try to fix it despite reducing the viewing distance, getting rid of distant trees and distant buildings; though it will still crash on schedule. I've only done this much because I don't really know what else to do. The frame-rate with this mod active is hardly any different than when it is not active. I have a decent computer, especially since I'm just running oblivion. Even with what oblivion reloaded seems to add it shouldn't be much more of a burden. I have noticed the loading screens seem to not be there as much: could this be the problem? I've seen other threads as well where people have gone great lengths to get this mod to work appropriately to no avail. And they have the exact same problem as me.
Oblivion reloaded is the best oblivion mod I've seen so far. I really do not want to abandon it. However, it seems like that may be the only thing left to do if I want to play the game. Please give me somewhere to start in getting this fixed.
OR is totally stable and makes the game very stable for long time playing. CTD can depends on lots of things. It is not possible to help to a generic problem like your one. You should be more specific.
What mods are you running? If it's just OR I'm going to haave to say you've done something wrong. But, you could always disable features one by one in the OblivionReloaded.ini or the in-game menu (press 'O').
You can try to disable everything in the OR settings and see where it gets you. Also, take a look at your OSR settings. I had similar pattern of crashes (every 15-20 mins if running around outside, pretty stable if I stay inside cities or caves) until I did that. Right now I have reduces iHeapSize in OSR to 512 from 1024 and 768 and enabled only WeatherMode, Terrain and Water in Shaders and GodRays and VolumetricFog in Effects and the game is pretty stable. I'm still experimenting though. In my case it feels like the main offenders were GrassMode and/or Grass shaders, maybe try to disable them first.
