Try some more troubleshooting first. Disable EVERY option and see if it crashes. If it does not, enable options one by one until the crash happens again. If you've done that, you'll have to consider mod/plugin interactions as well. What mods are you running? OBSE Plugins?
As i mentoined in the new thread the CDT has to do with EquipmentMode turned off. I'm ok with it now letting it on.. I just Was confused about the torch mechanics, but since i gave the torchkey a 255 it fixes the Problem for me.
- Actors in Charge (adds a spell to command Npc´s to give them animations. - Valeria Caresse (Companion Mod) - Cheydinhal Petshop (adds a little farm near cheydinhal to buy pets like dogs, crabs...) - Faster Akaviri (makes Katanas faster to swing) - Random Encounters (Adds more dynamic events to the game like getting ambushed when waiting)
and finally - Oblivion Reloaded.
No texture/ object or other graphic mods are installed.
Do you need some more informations ? Should i completely re- install Oblivion Reloaded ?
It´s strange.. when i deactivate shadows i get my normal fps around 60. But i really want to use them.. since they look great.
I don't see an issue with your rig. Alenet's testing shows zero to very minor FPS impact from shadows. He knows his code as well and understands how likely it would be, from a code standpoint, for shadows to impact performance. He tests on a OR-only install, so I suggest you do the same and see if the issue persists. It's sort of a pain, but if you want to solve your problem it needs to be done. Strip your LO to OR only and see what happens. If you still have FPS issues, play with disabling OR's features, one by one, on an OR-only game. Let us know.
I will completely reinstall Oblivion and install just OR when i have the time. I will report back then.
But i have to say, Oblivion runs horrible on my pc, even with ini tweaks & these unofficial patches. Performance breaks to 45 fps when i look in a certain direction. And with OR Shadows enabled its even worse. (down to 30 fps)
Ok. I don't know what else to tell you. It's up to Alenet now. He says there's no impact. I can't say from experience, I haven't loaded 7.0. I'll wait until the next version is released. Apparently there is a critical bug or two the big guy fixed. Maybe you could try again with the next release. In the meantime, you'll just have to live with it or uninstall. Sorry to not be of more help. I'm just site support. Alenet is mostly a one man show with OR itself.
einjakob: you can have also a 2000 series and an i9. Nothing changes. Oblivion works on a E8200 with a GTX 9000 series like on a i9 with a GTX 1000/2000 series. As i can see the area has several buildings so it is possibile you can have a little fps impact......the main problem i see it is that you have 46 fps without shadows and it is not "normal"......Oblivion without mods with OR without shaders replacemente has 70-90 fps (when vsync is off). So i think you have something wrong in your video settings or something else. This is not a forum for the problem you are speaking about because the problem is not OR.
I even think that oblivion run´s better on older hardware.. internet is full of people complaining about the performance on new hardware.
Like my assumption, there is something wrong in general, performance is really strange. First i thought it was because oblivion is an older game and just bad optimized for newer hardware (that info is standing in every second thread, regarding oblivion and bad performance). But i mean.. when u guys have no problems, there must be a problem from my side.
But anyways, thanks for helping.
